28798 (2026). Ricardo Menéndez March to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: Does the Ministry of Social Development operate a "Community Food Initiatives Fund", and if so, what does the fund do?

Hon Louise Upston: I am advised that the Community Food Security Initiatives Fund supports the ongoing operation of 13 community food security initiatives that are designed to increase access to affordable, healthy food within communities, with the objective of reducing reliance on emergency food support. In FY2025-26, the Ministry of Social Development provided $1 million in contributory funding to support these 13 community food security initiatives.
