28777 (2025). Lan Pham to the Minister for Biosecurity: Will the Government allocate any funding toward High pathogenicity avian influenza management in 2025/26?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: As a part of baseline funding, Ministry for Primary Industries, the Department of Conservation, the Ministry of Health and Health New Zealand are working together in preparation for the possible arrival of H5N1 Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) strain. Resourcing for any future response to HPAI will be provided by One Health agencies, industry and others as appropriate.
