28725 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Transport: How many jobs broken down by job titles and region, if any, have been deliberately left unfilled in the Minister’s departments, if any, from the previous financial year ?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that since 1 July 2022 (financial year 2022/23) up until now (financial year 2023/24), no vacancies have been deliberately left unfilled. The Ministry has not had significant job losses impacting ministerial work priorities. The Civil Aviation Authority is reviewing the current state to guide and understand any changes needed to support the implementation of the new Civil Aviation Act in April 2025. The review outcomes will be used alongside the governments directives and other considerations to guide any change needed to our systems, practices, or structures. At this stage there are no role impacts.
