28691 (2025). Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Minister of Finance: How much of the $12.8 billion in savings from the Budget 20225 initiative “Pay Equity – Changes to Fiscal Management” are from decisions from CAB-24-MIN-0136?

Hon Nicola Willis: None of the funding returned in the Budget 2025 "Pay Equity - Changes to Fiscal Management" initiative was agreed to be returned in the April 2024 Pay Equity Reset Cabinet decision (CAB-24-MIN-0136). The return of funding for the initiative was agreed by Cabinet alongside changes to the Equal Pay Act 1972 on 31 March 2025 (CAB-25-MIN-0093). Separate to the Budget 2025 "Pay Equity - Changes to Fiscal Management" initiative, Cabinet agreed to return $450 million over the forecast period from the Public Sector Pay Equity contingency (CAB-24-MIN-0136) as part of the Pay Equity Reset in April 2024.
