Arena Williams to the Minister for Building and Construction: Does the Minister intend to progress a “review of the building code with a goal to introduce streamlined risk-based consenting that considers the size and complexity of a development and the builder’s credentials”, as outlined in the National Party’s ‘Better Building and Construction’ document, and if so, what advice, reports, briefings, aides-memoire, or any other documents has the Minister, or any member of their Office commissioned on this by title and date?

Hon Chris Penk: I intend to progress the priorities outlined in the Speech from the Throne and the coalition agreements that are relevant to my portfolio. I have received information from officials that includes initial advice for delivering on all relevant government priorities and am awaiting further advice on specific initiatives.
