Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that, due to the complex nature of international illicit supply chains and that they are hidden by design, defining an international illicit supply chain as having been 'dismantled' is difficult. The New Zealand Customs Service (Customs) and overseas counterparts are in continuous collaboration to disrupt transnational organised criminal groups responsible for the international supply of illicit commodities. This work occurs over months and years and involves search warrants, arrests, and seizures in multiple jurisdictions over time.
