28609 (2025). Hon Jenny Salesa to the Minister of Customs: What operational limitations, if any, has the Minister been advised of regarding Customs’ ability to identify illicit flows via mule accounts?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that the New Zealand Customs Service is not responsible for identifying mule accounts under the Criminal Proceeds Recovery Act as this is the responsibility of the New Zealand Police under the Criminal Proceeds (Recovery) Act.
