28606 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Māori Development: How many jobs broken down by job titles and region, if any, have been disestablished in the Minister’s Departments, if any, from the previous financial year ?

Hon Tama Potaka: I am advised by Te Puni Kōkiri that in the 2023/24 financial year, one change process was completed for the Māori Warden project team. This realignment gave effect to the decision to modernise the funcions of the Māori Wardens, and to increase operational autonomy. This realignment resulted in the disestablishment of 6 roles: 1 x Training Coordinator (National Office) 5 x Regional Coordinator (Te Waipounamu, Te Tai Hauāuru (x 2), Waikato-Waiariki, Ikaroa Rāwhiti)
