28576 (2025). Hon Jenny Salesa to the Minister of Customs: What internal training, if any, has Customs provided frontline officers on using Criminal Proceeds (Recovery) Act, tools such as ‘notice of source’ or restraint applications?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that the New Zealand Customs Service (Customs) has no formal training in the application of the Criminal Proceeds (Recovery) Act 2009 because if criminally derived assets are identified by Customs investigations, these are all referred to the New Zealand Police Asset Recovery team for further action.
