28552 (2025). Hon Jenny Salesa to the Minister of Customs: How many internal reviews or audits of Customs’ performance on proceeds of crime enforcement have been completed since 2020, and, if any, what weaknesses were identified?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised by the New Zealand Customs Service (Customs) that proceeds of crime is the responsibility of the New Zealand Police. As such, Customs has not conducted any internal reviews or audits of Customs’ performance on proceeds of crime enforcement for the period 1 January 2020 to 4 June 2025.
