Teanau Tuiono to the Minister of Education: Further to WPQ 10921 (2024) What specific measures, if any, will she take to ensure that the voices and concerns of Kura Māori are adequately addressed in the final decision regarding the disestablishment of roles in the NZQA Ngā Poutoko Aromatawai Māori team?

Hon Erica Stanford: A staff change decision in an agency is the responsibility of the Chief Executive, not the Minister. I have been advised a proposal to disestablish positions in NZQA’s Ngā Poutoko Aromatawai Māori team, as part of pausing the development of new NCEA Level 2 and 3 standards, is subject to a change process that is currently under consideration. I understand a decision will be taken by the NZQA Chief Executive in due course.
