Teanau Tuiono to the Minister for Pacific Peoples: Further to WPQ 10913 (2024) how will the Ministry ensure that the quality and effectiveness of health, wellbeing, and support services for Pasifika communities are maintained or improved, particularly in regions where the workforce has been reduced?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that the Ministry for Pacific Peoples, despite their reduction in size, are deeply committed to championing the voices of Pacific communities within government policy including housing, economic development, education, employment and health. These priority areas will continue to be an important part of the Ministry’s role. The Ministry will remain closely connected to Pacific communities throughout New Zealand with a number of regional engagement roles in their new structure.
