28500 (2024). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister of Education: Further to WPQ 10923 (2024) what specific measures if any are being considered to ensure the quality of Māori student assessment for NCEA Level 2 and beyond?

Hon Erica Stanford: All of the measures that we are taking to improve equity and achievement will work to ensure the achievement and success of Māori students. These measures include implementing structured literary and maths mastery from years 1-6, building a knowledge rich curriculum, implementing ongoing monitoring of progress to identify those who need additional support early.
