28469 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Justice: What are the operational changes that have reduced expenditure in the Legal Aid Budget; if they have not yet been implemented what will they be?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I can advise the Member that this initiative is about improving training and quality assurance over how granting decisions are made for lower-level criminal cases, in accordance with the existing requirements in the Legal Services Act 2011.
