28465 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Justice: Has crown funding for community law centres reduced in the estimates; if so why?
Hon Paul Goldsmith: There has been no reduction in baseline funding for community law centres. The baseline funding in 2023/24 was $15.906 million. The baseline funding for community law centres in 2024/25 is $16.179 million.
The appropriation that funds community law centres had a time-limited increase in 2023/24 of an additional $23.697 million from the surplus interest generated from the lawyers and conveyancers' special fund.
