28453 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister for the Public Service and Digitising Government: Does he accept that defaulting to Microsoft may have meant the Government missed the opportunity to test the market for more favourable terms; if not, why not?
Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised that the GDDA’s research and work with agencies tells us that a range of different AI tools are being used across government. Copilot is commonly used as part of the Microsoft productivity suite, which is in use across government as well as in many private sector organisations. Many of the products and services available through the GDDA’s All of Government contracts contain AI capabilities. The GDDA is working to make additional AI products and services available for agency procurement through All of Government contracts, including training services.
