28449 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister for the Public Service and Digitising Government: Why is the AI assurance regime not expected to be in place until the end of June 2026, after Copilot has already been deployed across numerous agencies?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised that AI has been used by Public Service agencies for several years. The GDDA has developed supporting frameworks and guidance including the Public Service AI Framework and Responsible AI Guidance to promote safe and responsible use for the Public Service. The Public Service AI Assurance model will supplement these existing resources.
