Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister of Internal Affairs: Which option, if any, did the Minister agree to in the Department of Internal Affairs' paper to her of 4 February 2026 titled Advice on the use of Artificial Intelligence generated endorsements in online casino gambling advertising?

Hon Brooke van Velden: As the Minister of Internal Affairs, I decided that option three was the most appropriate way to address concerns about the use of artificial intelligence in gambling advertising. This option prohibits operators from using a person’s likeness, as well as any AI-generated content, to suggest or mimic a human endorsement.
