28375 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What funding, if any, has been allocated to ovarian cancer in the past ten years?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that the surgical and oncology capacity required to provide care for people with ovarian cancer contributes to the treatment of people with many different diseases as part of our focus on putting patients first and ensuring all New Zealanders have access to timely, quality healthcare. I do not consider it to be in the public interest to divert staff from essential services to undertake a substantial collation exercise to prepare specific information that is not currently held.
