28327 (2025). Hon Marama Davidson to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: What is the reason for the cut to spending for service providers for Supporting Victims and Perpetrators of Family and Sexual Violence ?

Hon Louise Upston: I am advised that time-limited funding from Budget 2022 for work on prevention approaches including Ethnic Communities Violence Prevention and Prevention of Abuse of Older People, and Budget 2023 for Accessible Family Violence and Sexual Violence Services for Disabled People finishes on 30 June 2025. The Ministry of Social Development will continue to use the insights from this work to inform future approaches to prevention of family violence. It’s important to note that no one will lose access to existing Family and Sexual Violence services as a result of this funding finishing.
