28312 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Justice: What total fees or other remuneration, if any, were paid to each director or member of a board or committee subject to a conflict of interest management plan at any agency, department, Crown entity, company, or other organisation for which the Minister is responsible since 27 November 2023, broken down by organisation, role, the amount paid, the period of service, and the proportion of agenda items the person was present for over that period, as at 10 June 2026?
Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised that for the Ministry of Justice’s Risk and Assurance Committee there are no conflict of interest management plans in place. For the Board, between 27 November 2023 and 10 June 2026, there were 5 members of a board or committee subject to a conflict of interest management plan. The conflict of interests plans in place for these members do not make a material difference in their attendance at board or committee meetings. As these members are all on a salary and were not paid a separate remuneration for attending board or committee meetings, I am withholding their salary amounts as this is personal information in accordance with section 9(2)(a) of the Official Information Act 1982. I am also advised there are various other groups that operate in or alongside the Ministry that may be described as committees, but do not provide organisational governance. For Ministry and Crown entity boards, as per Speaker’s Ruling 199/6, I do not consider it to be in the public interest to undertake an exercise to identify and collate the remainder of material requested, as it will require a significant diversion of resource. The Member may wish to consider asking a more specific question.
