28245 (2023). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Revenue: Does the Minister agree that the purpose of restoring interest deductibility is “to lower rents” as outlined in the National Party's 'Delivering Better Social Housing' document, if so, by how much does he expect rents to drop?

Hon Simon Watts: The Government’s policy programme and priorities are set out in the Speech from the Throne and the coalition documents. I am currently seeking advice on a range of these items from officials. Decisions taken to progress the Government’s policy programme and priorities, including decisions about agency funding , will be announced in due course. Advice and modelling officials provide to support these decisions will be proactively released as part of a proactive release process.
