Reuben Davidson to the Minister of Local Government: Does the Minister intend that the recently announced amendment to the Local Government (System Improvements) Bill will prevent prevent councils from appointing elected Community Board or Local Board members as voting members on council committees?

Hon Simon Watts: Community board and local board members are elected members. My intention is that, where they are appointed to a council committee, they should be able to exercise voting rights on that committee.
