28178 (2025). Hon Peeni Henare to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: What is MFAT’s current strategy, if any, for increasing New Zealand’s diplomatic visibility and engagement in other Indian cities and states (e.g. Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Gujarat)?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade is focussed on building relationships in New Delhi and numerous Indian states and cities. New Zealand has a High Commission in New Delhi, which has relationships with various state and city governments in other parts of India, as well as a Consulate -General in Mumbai and Honorary Consuls in Chennai and Kolkata. In addition, Prime Ministerial and Ministerial missions conducted by the Coalition Government have visited parts of India outside New Delhi.
