28147 (2024). Chlöe Swarbrick to the Minister of Finance: What is the forecast effect, if any, of Budget 2024 on Emissions Budget 3?

Hon Nicola Willis: Roughly 0.435 additional Mt CO2e over EB3. I note however that there are inherent uncertainties with this figure due to the limitations of the CIPA process. I note that the Government is working through the process to develop the second Emissions Reduction Plan this year. This will provide us with the opportunity to consider whether any additional actions might be needed to support our achievement of our future climate targets.
