28092 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What has been the total cost of operating the Health Assurance Unit since its formation on 29 January 2025?

Hon Simeon Brown: As I said in the House on 19 February, the Public Service Commission established the Health Assurance Unit to support our Government's focus on getting health back on track after previous decisions to restructure the health system in the middle of a pandemic. I am advised that costs related to the Health Assurance Unit since its formation are approximately $600,000. I note this is significantly less than the $8,540,360 spent by the Health Transition Unit on consultancy services alone, as per Written Parliamentary Question 54888 (2021).
