Hon Tama Potaka: Further to WPQ 22817 (2025), I am advised that the Independent Technical Advisory Group (ITAG), which is leading the Review of the Treaty of Waitangi Act 1975, is responsible for determining how feedback from iwi, hapū, and Māori organisations is gathered and incorporated into its recommendations. The ITAG operates independently from Ministers and government agencies. Other than what is defined in the Review’s Terms of Reference, the ITAG has full discretion over its engagement approach, including how information is received and how it is considered. Te Puni Kōkiri is providing secretariat support but does not direct the content or outcomes of the engagement process.
