28008 (2025). Lan Pham to the Minister for Biosecurity: Will the Government ever consider doing research into high pathogenicity avian influenza vaccines for cattle?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: I am advised that we are not currently doing research into HPAI vaccines for cattle, but we are watching this and other HPAI vaccine trials (such as those in poultry) closely. The commercial use of any vaccine for HPAI would need to be considered against the risks posed to the industry, and only after consultation with the impacted industry.
