27999 (2026). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister for the Public Service and Digitising Government: Did a Public Service Commission representative meet with the then Chief Executive of Kāinga Ora at Kāinga Ora offices in Wellington in May 2024, where the CE raised his concerns about accusations made about him by Hon Nicola Willis and Hon Chris Bishop and if so, what action, if any, did this representative or others at the Commission take?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised that the Chief Executive of Kāinga Ora was a member of the Public Service Leadership Team, and as part of this, the Commission had regular relationship meetings with them, including the one in May 2024. At that meeting, the Chief Executive of Kāinga Ora did not lodge a complaint nor ask the Commission to take any action in respect of the accusations you have set out. It is important to note that, unlike departmental chief executives, the Public Service Commissioner is not the employer of Crown Entity chief executives and is not responsible for their performance management or employment.
