Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: Did the Kāinga Ora Chair, Simon Moutter, or any Kāinga Ora senior staff members engage with the Public Service Commission before the Chair wrote to the Kāinga Ora Chief Executive on 19 June 2024 to “ascertain [his] interest in continuing in the CEO role of Kāinga Ora as a smaller and more narrowly focused organisation” and if so, for each instance, who made contact with the PSC, with whom did they have discussions and on what date?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised the Kāinga Ora Chair followed Public Service Commission advice and engaged with the Director System and Agency Performance at PSC leading up to the letter sent to the Chief Executive on 19 June 2024. While some senior staff may have supported this engagement, they are no longer employed at Kāinga Ora and as a result Kāinga Ora is not readily able to provide detailed information about separate interactions.
