27966 (2026). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Education: What specific outcomes will Dandolopartners and Martin Jenkins each be responsible for in their work on providing initial advice for a review of the Teacher Education Qualification Standards?

Hon Erica Stanford: External providers engaged by the Ministry of Education are supporting the initial phase of work to inform the review of initial teacher education (ITE) programme requirements. MartinJenkins as the contract owner are responsible for delivering independent, evidence informed advice to support the Ministry’s consideration of: • the strengths and limitations of current ITE programme requirements • opportunities to improve alignment with the 2026 Standards for the Teaching Profession • options to strengthen graduate teacher readiness and classroom practice • system level implications, including risks and implementation considerations. The Ministry retains overall responsibility for the review, including decisions on scope, direction, and any subsequent policy advice.
