27953 (2023). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: Does the Minister intend to progress a policy that “Councils will have more flexibility about where houses are built by being able to opt-out of the Medium Density Residential Zone law” as outlined in the National Party’s ‘Going for Housing Growth’ document, and if so, will they be required to “zone enough developable land (housing capacity) for housing to meet their 30-year long-term demand estimates” before they opt-out?
