Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Housing: Further to reply 19839 (2026), on how many occasions in 2026 has the Ministry of Social Development declined a prospective Emergency Housing supplier's request to register or opt in, in Canterbury, and what was the stated ground in each case?

Hon Tama Potaka: I am advised by the Ministry of Social Development that this information is not centrally recorded. Providing this information would require the Ministry to undertake substantial manual collation, diverting staff from their core duties. In accordance with Speaker's Ruling 210/6, I consider that the time, and hence the expense, of answering the Member's question is not in the public interest.
