27914 (2025). Lan Pham to the Minister for Infrastructure: Is the Minister aware of why the Klondyke Water Storage project is seeking a consent under the Fast-Track Approvals Act, given it is already consented and that consent already provides for staging of the project?

Hon Chris Bishop: The Klondyke Water Storage project is listed in Schedule 2 of the Fast-track Approvals Act 2024 making it eligible to apply for approvals under this Act. Information regarding its application for listing in Schedule 2 can be found at https://environment.govt.nz/acts-and-regulations/acts/fast-track-approvals/fast-track-projects/klondyke-storage/. As a Schedule 2 listed project, it is eligible to lodge a substantive application to the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) to have it considered by an Expert Panel. The EPA is responsible for the processing of substantive applications.
