27909 (2023). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: Does the Minister intend to introduce “pet bonds” to make it easier for tenants to have pets in rental properties, as outlined in the coalition agreement between National and ACT, if so, will his Government cap the amount landlords can charge tenants, or will they allow landlords to drive up bonds to unaffordable rates?

Hon Chris Bishop: The Government’s policy programme is as set out in the 100-day plan and the coalition documents. Timelines and specific details about policies are under active consideration. I am engaging in ongoing conversations with officials around a range of housing topics and priorities.
