27678 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Internal Affairs: How many vacant positions have been removed, if any, in each of the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies as at 30 May 2024?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised that, as at 30 May 2024, one vacant position has been confirmed for removal resulting from the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service. I am advised that the Department of Internal Affairs is proposing to close approximately 90 vacancies subject to final decisions being made on proposed organisational changes.
