27624 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Digitising Government: What examples broken down by project and agency, if any, can the Minister give to evidence her statement '“Government agencies are already seeing promising results" with the use of AI in the public service?

Hon Judith Collins: In July 2024, the Government Chief Digital Officer surveyed public service agencies on their use of AI and identified 108 use cases from 37 agencies where AI technology is being piloted or implemented. I received interim advice on the findings of this survey on 29 July 2024. The highlights from the final survey results are published online at digital.govt.nz. The Government Chief Digital Officer will be surveying agencies again this year for an updated view of the use of AI across the public service. The highlights from this survey are also expected to be made public.
