27592 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Digitising Government: Which agencies, if any, broken down by name and date of consultation, were consulted as part of the design and operation of the AI training for the public service?

Hon Judith Collins: No formal consultation occurred prior to the Public Service AI Masterclass, nor prior to the commencement of the pilot AI Foundational Development Programme for the public service. However, this foundational training is based on existing training delivered by Inland Revenue but repurposed for use for the wider public service. The AI Foundational Development Programme for the Public Service is being piloted with 10 agencies from 26 May to 30 June 2025. Their feedback and experience will be used to refine and modify the training to ensure it is fit for purpose.
