27503 (2023). Hon Dr Deborah Russell to the Minister of Revenue: Does the Minister intend to progress with extending the upper limit of eligibility for the independent earner tax credit from $48,000 to $70,000, with abatement of the payment starting from $66,000 as outlined in the National Party’s ‘Back Pocket Boost’ document, and if not, why not?
Hon Simon Watts: The Government’s policy programme and priorities are set out in the Speech from the Throne and the coalition documents. I am currently seeking advice on a range of these items from officials. Decisions taken to progress the Government’s policy programme and priorities, including decisions about agency funding , will be announced in due course. Advice and modelling officials provide to support these decisions will be proactively released as part of a proactive release process.
