27498 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Prime Minister: What advice, if any, did the Minister or their officials receive recommending against, or proposing a lower figure than, any board fee increase the Minister subsequently approved since 27 November 2023 for any agency, department, Crown entity, company, or other organisation for which the Minister is responsible, broken down by organisation and date, as at 8 June 2026?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as the Prime Minister, I am the responsible minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was a departmental agency hosted by DPMC until 25 September 2025. The Cyclone Recovery Chief Executive was a functional Chief Executive appointed under the Public Service Act 2020 in March 2023 and disestablished with effect from 1 July 2025. My response includes NEMA information to 24 September 2025. In July 2025, Cabinet agreed to a revised Fees Framework for determining or reassessing the fees paid to members of statutory and other bodies in which the Crown has an interest. Appointments under the Cabinet Fees Framework are managed by entities within the Minister’s portfolio in accordance with Cabinet Office Circular CO (25) 2 and Cabinet Manual. I am advised that DPMC paid $18,109.00 (rounded) to the members of its Risk and Assurance Committee based on a daily rate set in accordance with the Cabinet Fees Framework from 27 November 2023 to 8 June 2026. No additional payments were made outside of the daily rate. I have provided no advice regarding the Cabinet Fees Framework, the Public Service Commission Te Kawa Mataaho provides advice and guidance to agencies on the interpretation and implementation of the Cabinet Fees Framework.
