27400 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology: What consultations are the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, planning to open on the week beginning Monday 26 May 2025 with employees around any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions, and when is any such consultation expected to close?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: As Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology, I have no responsibility for any government departments. With regard to agencies, Crown entities and any other bodies under the Science, Innovation and Technology portfolio, I am advised two entities opened consultations in the week beginning 26 May 2025. New Zealand Forest Research Institute Limited (Scion) is continuing its consultation process regarding a 19 km shift in the site location of its Christchurch operations. This shift will affect 38 staff, however there is no impact to employment terms. This consultation period will close on 28 May 2025. Research and Education Advanced Network New Zealand Limited (REANNZ), commenced one consultation, which will close on 4 June 2025.
