27373 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Regulation: How, if at all, has Te Tiriti been considered in the current policy analysis that the Ministry for Regulation does for regulatory reviews?

Hon David Seymour: Ministry for Regulation officials engaged with Te Kōhanga Reo and Te Puna Reo as part of the Early Childhood Education Review. For the Hairdressing and Barbering Review, officials considered the role of Māori in the hairdressing and barbering industry, and particularly new barbering service models shaped by Māori approaches. The impact of the options on different population groups, including young Māori that were part of barbering training programmes being set up was also considered. We apply principles of sound regulation that are valuable to all New Zealanders.
