27218 (2025). Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Attorney-General: How many Crown submissions in court cases over the past year have addressed Māori rights or tikanga Māori, if any?

Hon Judith Collins: Crown Law regularly prepares legal submissions on behalf of the Attorney-General, both written and oral, in the context of proceedings before the Courts. These submissions will reflect tikanga Māori to the extent that is required by the arguments and evidence raised and the applicable law. I do not believe it is a good use of resource to search 12 months of case files in the circumstances.
