Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Minister for Infrastructure: Further to WPQ 21051 (2025) Why has the Environmental Protection Authority not held any meetings regarding environmental and cultural oversight under the Fast-track regime since 1 April 2025, despite their statutory responsibilities?

Hon Chris Bishop: The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) has no statutory responsibilities related to environmental and cultural oversight under the Fast-track Approval Act 2024. An expert panel may direct the EPA to obtain a report on any issue relevant to the application on its behalf.
