27180 (2025). Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Minister for Infrastructure: Further to WPQ 21051 (2025) How does the Ministry ensure that Te Tari Whakatau and Te Puni Kokiri are resourced to represent a diverse range of Māori perspectives, particularly those not aligned with settled Treaty entities?

Hon Chris Bishop: Under the Fast-track Approvals Act 2024, Te Tari Whakatau and Te Puni Kōkiri may recover actual and reasonable costs incurred in performing or exercising their functions, duties, or powers under the Act in relation to an application. The Ministry for the Environment does not have responsibility for the perspectives of officials in other agencies.
