27113 (2025). Takutai Tarsh Kemp to the Associate Minister of Housing: What are the different criteria of priorities, in order of highest priority to lowest priority, that determine where an individual is placed on the social housing register?
Hon Tama Potaka: I am advised by the Ministry of Social Development (The Ministry) that a person’s need for social housing is assessed through the Social Allocation System (SAS), which confirms a client's eligibility, assesses their need and whether this is a high risk (priority A) or serious level (priority B), and determines their housing requirements.
