27101 (2025). Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: Has the Minister considered initiating or supporting any diplomatic efforts aimed at bringing about a ceasefire in Gaza and facilitating humanitarian aid to affected populations?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: Yes. Throughout the conflict New Zealand has engaged through multilateral institutions and directly with parties involved to advocate for an immediate ceasefire. On 19 May 2025 New Zealand joined a statement alongside 24 other countries, urging Israel to allow the full resumption of aid into Gaza immediately; and enable the UN and humanitarian organisations to work independently and impartially to save lives.
