Hon Erica Stanford: In June 2024, Cabinet agreed that options for changes to the redress system be informed by the Design Group’s recommendations. The redress system changes announced on 9 May 2025 will improve settlement offerings and increase integration, alignment and consistency across the system and ensure consistent redress offerings and support across claims agencies. Over time survivors should experience a more integrated "one system" approach. Options for changes to enable the delivery of more meaningful apologies is also being considered.
