Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Lead Coordination Minister for the Government's Response to the Royal Commission’s Report into Historical Abuse in State Care and in the Care of Faith-based Institutions: Can a survivor of abuse in care who has already received a payment under claim pathways prior to the 9 May 2025 announcement regarding changes to the redress system lodge a new claim or only apply for a top-up?

Hon Erica Stanford: Survivors with closed claims who have received a payment for abuse in care from the Ministry of Social Development, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and/or Oranga Tamariki through the alternative dispute resolution process will be able to apply for a top-up payment.
