Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Education: When did the Ministry of Education begin preparatory work for implementing changes that may result from the passage of the Education and Training (System Reform) Amendment Bill and its coming into effect and what are all of the areas where such preparatory work is underway?

Hon Erica Stanford: The proposals in the Bill are the result of various policy processes, some of which started early in this parliamentary term. As part of those processes, the Ministry of Education undertook initial preparatory work by considering potential implementation requirements associated with the proposals.
